Frequently Asked Questions About the Ride

Q: What route should I ride?

Joy Ride (75km): This route takes in all the beauty of the 50km, with a little extra for those who consider May ‘mid-season.’ This is an ideal route if you are an active cyclist or have ridden the 50km before and feel ready for the next step.

Classic Ride (50km): The long ride covers more of Hamilton’s beautiful riding terrain. This is an ideal route if you like to cycle or are an active individual.

HamBur Loop (50km): The Tourism Route from the Hamilton Halton Brant Regional Tourism Association. Starting from Collective Arts Brewing, this challenging 50km ride takes you through the heart of downtown Hamilton, up the mountain to Albion Falls, down the Red Hill trail, over the QEW bike bridge to the waterfront trail, past Joe Brant Hospital to Plains Road and then back to Collective Arts. The terrain is 80% paved and 20% packed and loose gravel, this route is suitable for hybrid, cyclocross and mountain bikes, road bikes are definitely not recommended.

Cafe Ride (25km): Nicknamed the Goldilocks route, this route is for those who want a ride that’s ‘just right.’ This is an ideal route if you occasionally enjoy a leisurely weekend ride.

Family Ride (5km or 10km): A flat, easy, and quick ride. This route is ideal if you have young children or haven’t cycled in years and want to ease back onto a bike.
